After nearly two months of urgent construction made possible by the smooth coordination among the locality, the construction team and Tue Tam VH Group, today Sunday 23/06/2019 Phu My An Bridge (Tue Tam Bridge No. 60) is inaugurated to put an end to the threatened danger to the people. The bridge is built as a long wish fulfilled of the residents in Phu Thuan A Hamlet, Nhon Phu Commune, Mang Thit District, Vinh Long Province in the contentment of the benefactors accompanying Tue Tam VH Group to date in our charitable works.
It is barely dawn when Tue Tam VH Charitable Group starts out for Nhon Phu Commune, Mang Thit District, Vinh Long Province to attend the inauguration of Phu My An Bridge (Tue Tam Bridge No. 60) at 9:00am sharp.
Upon arrival, we are so moved and excited seeing the happiness and elation on the local people’s face, who from now on may travel on the new, strong and safe bridge without the fear of its sudden collapse.
Not so long ago, at this very place stood the 30-year-old concrete bridge heavily dilapidated with age, its broken span tied up by the people for passable passage, its abutments subsided, and its surface split up, broken into pieces. At that time one could not help having his heart contracted seeing the young pupils cautiously and awkwardly leading their bicycles across the bridge with the fear that at any moment the bridge would collapse from decay and overload.
Luckily with the strong support from benefactors, brothers, sisters, friends far and wide and the members of Tue Tam VH Group, the construction of Phu My An Bridge (Tue Tam Bridge No. 60) is started on 28/04/2019 to make the dream come true to the residents.
The new Phu My An Bridge (Tue Tam Bridge No. 60) is completed with the length of 36m, width of 2.8m and load of 2.5 tons. The total construction cost is VND180 million, of which VND36 million are contributed by the residents, VND155.3 million financed by benefactors far and wide and members of Tue Tam VH Group (VND148,3 million for bridge construction and VND7 million for gifts).
Phu My An Bridge (Tue Tam Bridge No. 60) is the loving gift of benefactors from every part of the country to the people in Phu Thuan A Hamlet, Nhon Phu Commune, Mang Thit District, Vinh Long Province.
The inauguration ceremony takes place both solemnly and pleasantly, with the band cutting, bridge opening prayer offering performed by the people and officer from the local government.
Residents eagerly put their first step on the new, beautiful bridge which can only come into existence from the compassion of many contributors.
To join in the merry atmosphere, the sponsors give gifts comprising: 05 gifts of VND600,000 worth each to studious pupils of poor families, 05 gifts of VND250,000 worth each to poor families, 12 gifts of VND100,000 worth each of notebooks and stationary to primary pupils, and 1 gift of VND1,500,000 worth in cash and kind to the People’s Committee of Nhon Phu Commune.
After the inauguration ceremony, Ms Tuyet Hong, an active member of Tue Tam VH Group, makes further donation in cash to make up 22 additional gifts to the people.
Giving away with a feeling of happiness and contentment, the sponsors accompanying Tue Tam VH Group are really moved seeing the residents’ elation for the bridge and its precious meaning to them.
Saying farewell to the residents and Vinh Long Province, we secretly wish that coming back there some day we may witness the locality well developed in economy and culture and the people content and well off.
Each trip to the localities gives us much thoughts and concern. Out there are so many bridges that need to be built or renovated, how can one provide timely help to the people? Nevertheless, we have to be content with our continuous effect and keeping up, one by one, with the bridges under our charitable projects.
On behalf of the people of Phu Thuan A Hamlet, Nhon Phu Commune, Mang Thit District, Vinh Long Province, Tue Tam VH Group sincerely thank all benefactors, brothers, sisters and friends (including anonymous ones) who contribute to the construction of Phu My An Bridge (Tue Tam Bridge No. 60).
Receiving your concern, the local people would certainly feel optimistic where life is much more meaningful with others’ shared love and compassion.
