20/6/2019 – INAUGURATION OF 02 BRIDGES OF LOVE IN SOC TRANG PROVINCE:
LE QUANG BRIDGE (TUE TAM BRIDGE NO. 57), 36M LONG, 3.3M WIDE, WITH 03-TON TRAFFIC LOAD AND 5-METER ROADS AT TWO ENDS, CONSTRUCTION COST VND236 MILLION, AND
LE CHAN BRIDGE (TUE TAM BRIDGE NO. 58), 35M LONG, 3.3M WIDE, WITH 03-TON TRAFFIC LOAD, CONSTRUCTION COST VND220 MILLION.
The above are the 2nd and the 3rd bridges financed by a sponsor in Tue Tam VH Group in Soc Trang, one of the southern provinces of Vietnam which still encounter many difficulties.
On 20/6/2019 morning, representatives of the communal government, Tue Tam VH Group and the sponsor perform the inauguration ceremony for Le Quang and Le Chau Bridges in the witness of the delighted local residents who have been waiting for the bridges to be put into use since the construction commencement date, 13 March 2019.
Leaving District 1, Ho Chi Minh City from early dawn to make the 240km travel to Soc Trang Province, our delegation and the representative of Ms. Chau Thi Dieu’s family in Ho Chi Minh City (the sponsor) manage to arrive in the locality at 10:00 a.m. to perform the bridge inauguration ceremony together with the representative of the local government and residents.
Le Quang Bridge is situated in Ta Diep C1 Hamlet, Thanh Tri Commune, Thanh Tri District, Soc Trang Province, right at the location where the former one-log bridge was provisionally erected for the passing of nearly 1,000 residential households – the bridge was so precarious and accident-prone, but it did help the residents saving nearly a dozen of kilometers trying to bypass the crossing using a longer route.
Quang Bridge, 36m long, 3.3m wide, with a 03 ton traffic load, serves the travelling of nearly 1,000 families in the Commune.
To make it easy for passers to mount and dismount the Bridge, the sponsors and the communal government further finance the construction of 5m long road to each end of the bridge. The total cost of bridge and road construction is VND236 million, of which VND41 million are contributed by the local people in cash and working days, the balance VND195 million are sponsored by Ms. Chau Thi Dieu’s family.
The representatives of the communal government, Ms. Chau Thi Dieu’s family and Tue Tam VH Group perform the bridge inauguration, band cutting and bridge opening ceremonies in the witness of the local people.
In this occasion, Ms. Chau Thi Dieu’s family donates gifts to families with difficulty in the Commune (10 gifts of VND250,000 worth each, to children from poor families (10 gifts of VND100.000 worth each) and to the People’s Committee of Thanh Tri Commune (VND1.5 million worth gift).
In addition to the above, the sponsor gives a memorial gift to the construction team as the thank for their continuous effort to finish the bridge in the shortest time possible.
After the inauguration of Le Quang Bridge, we say farewell to the local residents and move to Long Thanh Hamlet, Tan Long Commune, Nga Nam Township, Soc Trang Province to attend the inauguration of Le Chau Bridge.
Le Chau Bridge’s coming into use is a real, exciting event to the local people, as there was none before in the Hamlet. Previously, about 800 residential families, grown-up and pupils queued to pass the river by the rope-pulling raft and took a long curve. What an arduous task to the residents of a locality with difficult economic conditions and poor infrastructure, who have to travel back and forth, day and night, in their daily activities.
Le Chau is a large bridge 35m long, 3.3m wide with a traffic load of 3 tons – strong and wide and convenient enough for the local population.
The total construction cost is VND220 million, of which VND39 million worth in working days are contributed by the residents, the rest VND181 million are financed by Mr, Ms Chau Thi Dieu family (Ho Chi Minh City).
The representatives of the local government, Ms Chau Thi Dieu’s family and Tue Tam VH Group perform the bridge prayer offering, inauguration band cutting and opening ceremonies in the witness of the local residents, then take first steps on the new beautiful bridge.
In this occasion, Ms Chau Thi Dieu further send 10 gifts of VND250,000 worth each to families in difficult, 10 gifts of the same value to young children and one memorial gift of VND1.5 million worth to the People’s Committee of Tan Long.
Attending the inauguration of two bridges are representatives of two communal governments, Reverend Thich Dinh Huong, abbot of Vinh Phuoc Pagoda in Soc Trang Province and the people in the two communes.
A bridge erected would entail socio-cultural-economic development and welfare of the whole locality. Tue Tam VH Group and the people and governments of Thanh Tri and Tan Long Communes, Soc Trang Province sincerely thank Ms Chau Thi Dieu’s family for their kind concern to the inhabitants in these far and remote areas.
